Thomas Ulrich is a protestant theologian and has worked as a clergyman in Berlin. He has followed Stockhausen’s music since the ’50s. In 2006 he published a book on the spiritual meaning of the work of Stockhausen and Cage that is (in the part on Stockhausen) due to appear in English translation in the Stockhausen-Verlag Kürten. He was the dramatic producer with the Catalan theatre company, La Fura dels Baus staging of Licht (Michaels Reise, Vienna 2008; Sonntag aus Licht, Cologne 2011; www.licht-zyklus.com).
