A graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Birmingham Conservatoire, James Dooley is currently a PhD candidate at Birmingham Conservatoire researching the interaction between sound and space. An active composer, his compositions explore the interaction between the performer, performance space and the audience, and often involve the use of live electronics and alea. Past performances include: Inscriptions, premiered during the 2011 Frontiers+ Festival, Birmingham; and The physical impossibility of love in the mind of the pleasure seeker, premiered during the Integra Festival 2011, Copenhagen. More recently, James collaborated with visual artist Hugo Dalton and choreographer Christine Sundt in the exhibition Mother Nature B.D.S.M. hosted at Bermondsey Project Space and Shoreditch House, London.
